Plug the iPod into the primary computer with which it is associated. Typically, this is the computer that the iPod was initially set up on. Connecting and properly disconnecting the iPod will unlock the screen.
Plug the iPod into any computer. When it appears in the iTunes menu, select it and select "Reset iPod" from the main screen. Keep in mind that this will reset the iPod to its factory settings, and all data saved onto the iPod will be lost. Do this only as a last resort.
The iPod Nano is a smaller version of Apple's classic iPod. The 4G version (4th Generation) was released in 2008, with an added "screen lock" feature that allows users to password-protect the iPod. This is handy if the user does not desire other folks to use or tamper with the iPod. The screen can be unlocked in one of a few different ways: enter the proper unlock code, plug the iPod into the primary computer it is associated with or plug it into another computer for a factory reset.
