Prevent Apple Mobile Services From Starting Up Automatically - Exit out of the iTunes program if it is open, and unplug the iPod, iPad or iPhone from your computer if it is connected. Click the Start menu button in the lower-left corner of the desktop screen. Click "Control Panel" on the menu.

Double-click the "Administrative Tools" icon, and double-click "Services."
Click the "Services (Local)" tab in the Services window's sidebar, and locate the "Apple Mobile Device" in the "Name" column of the Services list.

Click "Apple Mobile Device" to highlight it, and click the "Stop" hyperlink to disable the program. Click the "X" button in the upper-right corner of the Services window to save the settings and exit the window.

Once disabled, your PC will no longer open iTunes whenever your Apple media player is connected to the computer.
