Convert files that are not MPEG-4 for iPod use. If you have WMV or AVI files that you would like to place on the iPod, highlight their names and right-click. Select "Convert" to do the conversion.
Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cord. When iTunes automatically launches, click "Register Now," "Register Later" or "Never Register" your iPod. To complete your video setup, choose one of the latter two options. There will then be an option to sync your computer's audio and video library with your iPod classic.
If you prefer to transfer your videos manually, do not click the sync option. Drag the video files from your iTunes library onto the icon for your iPod classic on the left side of your iTunes window. Once your files are done copying, your iPod is all set up for video.
The iPod classic is a popular MP3 player with exceptional storage space (160 GB) and the ability to play videos. Setup for video playback is a simple process that only takes minutes.
