Tap the Safari Web Browser application or any other application that requires Internet access. A list will automatically open on your screen that names all available networks.
Tap the network you wish to use from the list. The networks listed are all wireless networks detected by the iPod. Protected networks will have lock icons to the right of their names.
Enter the password if the network you have selected is protected. Your iPod touch will store this password for future use.
The iPod touch has the ability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, giving you access to information while on the go. The iPod detects both protected and unprotected networks, and can remember which Wi-Fi networks you have used before, eliminating the need to enter passwords more than once. Your iPod touch should automatically detect wireless networks, but you can also manually connect to a network or switch to a new one.
