An Apple iPod is a portable music player that gives owners the ability to listen to music while away from their computers. Before you can begin using any Apple iPod, you will need to sync the device with the software program iTunes. This is the program you will use to place audio files onto the Apple iPod. To do this, however, you must first add the audio files saved onto your computer to the iTunes library.
