Syncing an iPod with an iTunes-equipped computer allows users to transfer data, music, video and images between devices. Syncing occurs when the iPod is connected to the computer via a USB cable. When the two devices have difficulty communicating, the error can be caused by a corrupted iPod, damaged USB cable or outdated software.
