Double click the downloaded ZIP file to begin the installation. Accept the terms of service and install to your local hard drive. SharePod should take less than 10 MB of hard drive space, depending on your system configuration.
Open the SharePod software to verify the installation is complete.
Connect your iPod to your PC using the iPod-compatible USB cable. If iTunes opens automatically, close it.
Apple's popular line of iPod music players is designed to work best with Apple's own iTunes music management system. But if you don't (or can't) use iTunes to manage your music library, a number of different software programs allow you to put music on your iPod without connecting through iTunes.
