Connect your device to your PC via its USB cable and update it with the latest firmware by opening iTunes, clicking your iPod logo in the left pane and then clicking "Update" in the right pane (under the "Summary" tab). Also, be sure to get the latest version of iTunes from apple.com/itunes.
Plug your frozen iPod into a wall charger. Make sure the iPod is turned on and charged, instead of just asleep (which can often be misconstrued as frozen).
Move the "hold" switch back and forth several times. Right after this, press and hold the "Menu" button and the "Select" button simultaneously for several seconds, until the Apple logo appears. If it's still not unfrozen, repeat this step a few times.

But like all other electronic devices, iPods aren't perfect. Every once in awhile, you may find that your iPod has a glitch. One of the most annoying glitches is when the device freezes. If you've had this happen to you, there are a few things you can try to revive your frozen iPod.
