Change the Name on an iPod Nano - Connect the iPod to your computer, using the docking cable, and open the iTunes music program if it does not do so automatically.

Locate the Device Manager in the left-hand column of the iTunes music player window. There will be an arrow next to the Device Manager. Click the arrow and the Device Manager will expand into a drop-down menu showing all devices currently connected to iTunes.
Find the iPod Nano under Device Manager and click on the iPod Nano's current name. Doing this will highlight its current name in blue. To change the name, simply key in your new name, which will replace the current one. To set the name, hit "Enter" once you are finished keying. This will synchronize the Nano and assign it the new name.
