Clean an iPod Wheel

Clean an iPod Wheel - Turn off your iPod and turn on the Hold button so you do not accidentally switch on the power while cleaning.

Dip a cotton swab or ball in 80 percent isopropyl alcohol, or rubbing alcohol found at any drugstore, and squeeze off any excess. You may also use a lint-free cloth.
Lightly rub the cotton swab, ball, or cloth over the Click Wheel until the dirt or fingerprints have disappeared. If this does not work, consider using a small amount of glass cleaner on a new cotton swab instead.

Dry the Click Wheel by wiping it with a dry hand towel.

Dirt and fingerprints are easily noticeable on an iPod with a white Click Wheel, but the wheel is a delicate piece of technology that you must be careful in cleaning. It serves as a touch pad, which consists of electrical current and mechanics that you do not want to harm.
