Master Reset a Frozen iPod - Slide the hold switch back and forth from "on" to "off" five times. The iPod might just sleeping. Flipping the switch may be all that is needed to wake it up.

Place one finger on the "Menu" button and one finger on the "Select" button. Make sure your fingers are not touching any of the surrounding buttons.
Press the buttons down at the same time, and hold them down until the Apple symbol appears. This takes between 10 and 20 seconds. If the symbol does not appear on the first attempt, repeat the process.

Slide the hold switch back and forth from "on" to "off" five times.
