Reset an Ipod Classic

Reset an Ipod Classic - Make sure the iPod Classic isn't simply paused or locked. Check the screen for a lock symbol. If you see a lock, unlock the Hold switch. You should be back in business.

Put the iPod on a flat surface to stabilize it. Slide the Hold switch on, then slide it off.
Hold down Select and Menu together for several seconds with two fingers. Make sure your finger isn't touching the Click Wheel. When the Apple logo appears, release Select and Menu.

If the iPod Classic doesn't reset, repeat the above step. If that still doesn't get your iPod Classic to restart, plug the iPod into a power adapter or a computer and see if it starts up.
