Rockbox is an open source, alternate operating system for Apple iPod MP3 players. Rockbox features wider support for more music and video file types than the Apple OS, and it can be loaded onto most Apple iPod devices. If you have Rockbox installed onto your iPod, the device will boot into Rockbox by default, but the Apple software still exists on your iPod. If you want to access the Apple OS, you will need to restart your iPod.
