Play iPod Through Television Speakers

Play iPod Through Television Speakers - Plug the 1/8-inch plug side of the 1/8-inch to RCA connector cable into the headphone jack on your iPod.

Plug the other end of the 1/8-inch to RCA connector cable into an available audio input on your television. Most newer televisions have an audio input, but some older televisions do not. You cannot use these older televisions to play audio from your iPod device. You want to match the colors from the 1/8-inch to RCA connector cable to the colors on your television's input. If your television does not have colors, you should plug the red cable into the right input and the white cable into the left input.
Turn on your television and select the input that corresponds to the audio input you plugged the 1/8-inch to RCA connector cable into in Step 2.

Power on your iPod and play an audio file. You will hear the sound through your television's speakers.

An iPod is a portable media player that is marketed and sold by Apple Inc. All iPods have a 1/8-inch audio output jack that is typically used to plug headphones into. It is, however, possible to use a 1/8-inch to RCA connector cable with the iPod so that you can play audio from your iPod through television speakers. This is a good option to consider if you do not have an iPod docking station or stereo to connect to your iPod and you do not want to listen to audio through headphones.
