Remove the Touch Screen From an iPod Touch

Remove the Touch Screen From an iPod Touch - Insert the safe open tool between the back plate and aluminum frame, above the dock connector. Slide the safe open tool to the bottom right corner of the iPod, and flip the iPod on its back.

Insert the flat screwdriver in the gap on the side of the iPod created by the safe open tool (which should still be in place at the corner of the iPod). Pry the backplate off until you hear a click.
Replace the screwdriver with a safe open tool, and continue prying. When the backplate feels like it is coming loose, slide the safe open tool around the circumference of the backplate. When it is disconnected, remove the backplate.

Unscrew the screw by the headphone module.

Slide the safe open tool under the battery. The battery will be glued down, so be very careful. Do not bend or otherwise damage the battery.

The iPod Touch is a product from Apple Computer that not only plays music and generates playlists, but also supports games and Internet browsing as well. It is called a "Touch" because it uses touch-screen technology, allowing users to use programs, browse music, and play games by touching their fingertips to the screen, or by manipulating the orientation of the iPod (such as turning it on its side, or shaking it.)
