Charge an iPod With a Laptop

Charge an iPod With a Laptop - Open the laptop and connect it to a power source. Let it boot up, allowing the start menu and programs to be loaded correctly.

When your laptop is properly powered, loaded and ready for business, find your iPod and its USB adapter cable.
Connect the iPod's USB adapter cable to the iPod. Then connect the other end of the cable to the laptop computer.

Check the iPod screen. A charging icon should appear on the screen, usually something showing a "do not disconnect" message. If this appears on the screen, your iPod should be charging. A battery icon may not be specifically displayed.

Wait several minutes and disconnect your iPod. Check the iPod's battery power to see if it actually was charging. If so, re-connect and finish charging. The entire charging process may take up to several hours.

So you went on vacation, you brought the iPod for tunes, and no charger. With iPod's special features, charging it is made easier, as the iPod's USB port adapter enables you to charge it up through a laptop computer. This state of the art method allows travelers to travel a little bit lighter and make use of the iPod in impromptu situations.
