Connect an Apple iPod Touch 8 GB to the Internet

Connect an Apple iPod Touch 8 GB to the Internet - Obtain credentials to a nearby wireless network if you're not at home or don't have access to a public, password-free network. If you're at a coffee shop, for example, ask the cashier which network you should use and which password you should use to connect to it.

Tap your iPod Touch's "Settings" icon, then "Wi-Fi." If a blue "Off" button appears next to Wi-Fi, tap it to turn on the device's wireless adapter.
Scroll through the list of wireless networks than appear, then tap the one that corresponds to your network. Enter a password -- if your network requires one -- and tap "Connect" to connect your iPod Touch 8 GB to the Internet.

Apple's iPod Touch is a touch-screen version of its popular iPod device, similar in appearance and function to the iPhone. Like the iPhone, the iPod Touch is capable of accessing the Internet, albeit using different means. While the iPhone typically connects to the Internet via a mobile carrier's cellular data network, the only means of connecting to the Internet on an 8 GB iPod Touch is to use the device's built-in wireless adapter.
