Select the "Export" command in the File menu, then select "Desktop" from the "Where" options and "Move to iPod" from the "Export" options on the drop-down list. The computer will save an iPod-ready version of the movie to your desktop. The process should take a few minutes, so be patient while it works.
Open iTunes and drag the movie you've just created (the one on the desktop, not the original) into the play list or folder where you'd like it to be. Most iTunes have a default "Movie" or "Video" folder which should be appropriate. Wait a few minutes until iTunes indicates that the movie has been saved.
Connect your iPod to your computer using the cable which came with it. Select the iPod icon on your iTunes window, then click on the "Music" tab and select "Sync Music." Make sure the folder or playlist containing your movie has been clicked. Alternately you can sync everything on your iTunes by clicking the "All Songs and Playlists" button.
QuickTime is Apple's video playback software, allowing you to record and download videos directly onto your Mac. As such, it naturally works in synchronization with Apple's iPod products, many of which have video screens allowing you to watch all manner of movies on the go. You can put QuickTime movies on your iPod very easily, then watch them whenever you like and wherever you happen to be.
