Connect to a Wireless Network Using the iPod Touch - Touch the "Settings" icon on the home screen of the iPod touch. The iPod does not require you to press down very hard to select an icon. Using your finger, lightly tap the application you want to activate it.

Choose the Wi-Fi setting and turn it on. You may need to wait a moment while the device locates available networks.
Select the wireless network you want to connect to. You may have more than one option based on your location. If you are prompted for a password, enter it and touch "Join."

Opt to have your iPod alert you when there is a new network you can join. This can be useful if you are no longer in range of a network you have previously used. To receive these messages, turn on the "Ask to Join Networks" feature.

Tell the iPod touch to "forget" a wireless network that you no longer want to use, so it will not automatically try to connect you. Under the Wi-Fi settings, tap the ">" button next to the network you want to delete and then touch "Forget this network."
