Locate your Apple iPod model and reset per the following instructions:
-- iPod Nano 6th Generation: Hold down your "Sleep/Wake" and "Volume Down" buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
-- iPod Nano Original through 5th Generation: Slide your "Hold" switch on and then off. Hold down your "Menu" and "Select" (Center) buttons until the Apple logo appears.
-- iPod Shuffle: Turn the iPod Shuffle switch off for 5 seconds (1st and 2nd generation) or 10 seconds (3rd and 4th generation). Flip the switch to the "Play in Order" or "Shuffle" position to reset the device.
-- iPod Touch: Hold the "Sleep/Wake" button until you can slide the "Slide to Power Off" slider on the screen. Slide it, and then press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button until you see the Apple logo.
-- All Other iPod Models: Turn your "Hold" switch on and then off. Press "Play/Pause" and "Menu" at the same time and hold them down until the Apple logo appears.
Allow your iPod to power up after reset and test it to make sure it is working again. If not, plug your iPod into a power source (outlet or your computer) and attempt Step 2 again.
You can reset your Apple iPod if the device freezes up. The reset procedure depends on the model of Apple iPod you have, so make sure you know what type of iPod you are resetting before attempting to do so.
