Locate your iPod's USB cable, which should have a dock connector on one end and a USB jack on the other. Plug the dock connector end into the bottom of the iPod. Connect the other end of the cable into a USB portal on your laptop or desktop computer, which will prompt the iPod to begin transferring iTunes music.
Manually manage which songs to add to your iPod by selecting the iPod icon in the sidebar of iTunes after you've plugged the iPod into the computer. Select the "Summary" tab and uncheck the box next to "Open
Go into the sidebar and click on "Music" to open your full music library. Select a song by clicking on it or a group of songs by clicking one one song and holding the "Shift" key while you move the downward arrow to the last song of the grouping you wish to move. Drag the song or songs to the iPod icon on the sidebar of iTunes to transfer that music into your iPod.
Go into your sidebar, click on the playlist of your choice and drag that into the iPod icon on the sidebar to move all songs in the playlist into your iPod.
