Unlock an iPod Nano If You Forget the Combination - Click the "Start" button on your Windows-based PC, click "All Programs" and click "iTunes" to open iTunes. Or click the "iTunes" icon on the dock of your Macintosh to launch the application.

Insert the iPod Nano's cable into the bottom of the device, and insert the other end of the cable into the USB port on your computer.
Click the iPod Nano's icon in the iTunes' side window, then click the "Eject" icon next to the iPod Nano's icon to unplug the device.

Press the "Play" button on the iPod Nano's click wheel to begin audio playback, or slide your finger over the click wheel to access different areas of the iPod Nano.



If you've forgotten your combination and are locked out of your iPod Nano, don't worry.You can easily disable the screen lock on the iPod Nano. Plugging the device into the computer you use to sync information to the iPod Nano will also unlock the feature, according to J.D. Biersdorfer, author of "iPod: The Missing Manual."
