Load Your Apple iPod With DVD Movies - Download and install a DVD ripping program; then rip the DVD's video file to your computer. There are several different DVD ripping programs available as free downloads and virtually all of them rip DVD video into an industry-standard format thatis compatible with the iPod, like an .mp4.

Open the iTunes application and connect your iPod to the computer. The iTunes application will automatically detect the iPod and prepare it for syncing files and information.
Drag-and-drop the ripped DVD video file into the iTunes main window. Dropping the file into the main window will automatically place a copy of the file into the appropriate folder so that it will appear in the iTunes library under the "Movies" sections.

Go to and select "Movies" in the left-side menu in the iTunes application window.



Find the ripped DVD movie in the "Movies" library and select it.
