Open the "iTunes" application. A message on iTunes will warn you to not disconnect your iPod for a few moments.
Disconnect the iPod from the USB cable when the message reads, "OK to disconnect." The screen is now unlocked.
Click the "Play" button on the iPod wheel to turn the screen on. A padlock will appear with four zeros underneath, with the first zero highlighted.
You probably don't want anyone else accessing your Apple iPod nano without your permission, and with Apple's "Screen lock" feature, you don't have to worry about any prying eyes looking at your personal data. The "Screen lock" feature locks your screen by way of a combination code so that nobody but you can use it. When you want to unlock it, you can use one of two ways.
