Connect your iPod to your computer. If iTunes does not open automatically, launch it.
Select your iPod under the "Devices" list and press "Restore." Note: all data on the iPod and all settings will be erased. Unfortunately, this is the only way to reset a volume lock password.
Disconnect your iPod and open the main menu. Select "Screen Lock" from the Extras menu.
Pick a new combination for the iPod.
If your iPod has its volume lock enabled, you won't be able to adjust the volume beyond that setting. Depending on the songs or styles of music, you may want to adjust the volume beyond the locked position to better enjoy your music. If you have forgotten the password, you'll have to restore your iPod to reset it.
