Fix an iPod Green Screen - Turn on your computer. Click on the "Software Update" tab at the top of the "Finder." Run any software updates that you might need. A green screen can be fixed by updating your iTunes version. When prompted to restart your computer click "OK."

Plug your iPod into your computer. When plugging your iPod into your computer, make sure that you plug it into a USB port on the side of the computer and not a USB hub. If your iPod doesn't trigger iTunes to start or doesn't mount on your desktop don't worry about it.
Push the "Hold" switch from on to off if you have an iPod classic. Slide this button back and forth a couple of times. If you're using an iPod Touch you will hold the "Home" key at the bottom of the unit and the "Off" switch at the top of the unit.

Set your iPod on a table or countertop. You need it to rest on a flat surface before the next step.



Press and hold the "Menu" and the "Center" buttons at the same time. Hold these two down until you see the Apple logo appear on the iPod screen. You should hold these buttons down for about 6 to 10 seconds.

An iPod is a good device for holding all of your music, videos and pictures in one place. Having a broken iPod is something nobody wants. For most users, the green screen is something unknown.
